Amy and Sierra sit down to talk about Iluma Learning’s professional development program Leadership Ignite 💡

Sierra: Hi Amy.

Amy: Hey Sierra.

Sierra: We have been developing the next step of Leadership Ignite, and I just want you to talk a little bit about Leadership Ignite, explain the program a little bit to me.

Amy: Okay. Alright. Leadership Ignite. I really, I'm in love with this program. Our team, which Sierra, of course you're a part of, helped develop this six month program to help uplift entire companies at once with very little burden on any single person. And so Leadership Ignite is the ultimate soft skill program that helps people gain awareness so that they can improve their performance at work and at home.

So as a real benefit, what I really love about Leadership Ignite is the fact that we send out videos every week to everyone in the company, and then small teams of direct reports get together with their supervisor a week later and talk about the video that they received. And we always give some kind of little assignment or a little quiz or survey or something that just helps deepen your understanding about that topic.

When you get together with your team the following week, we have created a facilitator guide that's super quick and easy and step by step for a supervisor to be able to lead just a short activity around that topic. So it deepens the understanding both individually and from a team level and it uplifts the whole company.

Sierra: And what types of companies do you think make a good fit for this program?

Amy: Well, companies where the top level leadership is ready for culture change and improvement. The companies where it doesn't work is where the people at the top are telling the employees, you should improve on this, and yet they don't improve on it. That doesn't work. But if everybody is willing to do it together and there's buy-in from the top, it'll work for any company.

Of course, you know, at Iluma Learning we focus on heavy equipment dealerships and OEMs and that whole industry. And so this is really designed with them in mind, but it is a brilliant program for any company that wants to improve and grow and really invest in their people.

Sierra: And what are you most excited about when it comes to Leadership Ignite? What are you most passionate about?

Amy: As I'm watching dealerships go through this program, I think what gets me most excited is when I see individuals at every level in the business really being impacted by what they're becoming more aware of about themselves. And I'm watching them show up differently to their team.

I'm also seeing it be an impact at home. They're taking what they're learning about communication, listening, personality styles, conflict resolution, and they're applying it at home and they're getting a positive result there too.

So it's exciting to see people become the best versions of themselves by being introduced to small tools here and there that take five minutes to watch a video and do a little something with that topic. It's elevating everybody in the company and I love to see that.
